guess what!!

i am updating!

so since i've last posted loads of shit has happened.

firstly, it's the last day until march break so woohoo to that.

secondly i also got into guelph and mcmaster!!!

aaand we bought a new house way out in the middle of nowhere last night but it's a nice house out in the middle of nowhere.

i'm going to ottawa on sunday to take a look at carleton.

i still have no real idea where i want to go.

oh and i got a new laptop which i'm using right now.

the mousepad really pisses me off sometimes and sometimes it does really stupid things and playing stronghold drives me NUTS.

but it's nice.

i've never felt better about my marks.
yesterday in challenge and change in society (hah!)
our student teacher who's been teaching us for a while now said

guys, today and tomorrow we're going to watch a movie because you guys did some AMAZING work these past few days, some really AMAZING critical thinking and all that good stuff and i don't want to be HARDCORE before march break like a TEACHER NAZI so we're going to watch a moooovie!

and i looked at my friend and said hey i think we're in the right class.

and then later i was thinking oh no we were put into the special ed class.
but then it seemed like that in media studies too.
but it turned out to just be the teacher.

media studies was a great big joke that was ruined by a terrible teacher who i hope gets kidney stones.
or gallstones.

because REALLY we are doing group 'placemats' which to my AMAZINGLY SURPRISED teacher's SURPRISE we had never done them before.

THE ACTIVITY INCLUDED USING BRIGHTLY COLOURED PERMANENT MARKERS (??) TO FILL IN ONE PART OF THIS SECTIONED PIECE OF PAPER AND THEN SPINNING IT AROUND SO EVERYONE COMMENTED ON EVERYONE ELSE'S SIDE IT IS A SWEET CLASS!!!!!!

yeah and then philosophy and environment and resource management.

christine and i were planning on going to wonderland yesterday, even though it was supposed to rain all weekend.
so we did.
and quite luckily it didnt really rain at all the entire time we were there.
we drove all the way down bovaird which took forever so we ended up counting red and green lights.
then we went past the huge opening with all the flags and had to turn around.
it started to rain a bit just as we were eating a funnel cake, right before we were going to leave anyway. so we huddled under the umbrella (no one else had an umbrella so we laughed at them) and then we pretty much got lost on the way back.
and we had to stop and ask someone.
and then it started to pour, and then we went to the movies.
and then the lady's all the movies sold out.
so we had to wait an hour, so we went shopping and went to starbucks, which was about my second time at a starbucks and i got a chai tea latte and it was really good, but very expensive and thats why i dont go. anyway then we saw open season which was really cute.
and then we got lost on the way home, which is kind of embarassing.
but it was raining and dark.

and now im trying to get my homework done before 7 because its the new season of americas funniest home videos, and im still in love with tom bergeron, then amazing race, and then desperate housewives.

my mom has gone out to a blue rodeo concert.

vancouver was pretty nice. we visited sfu and ubc and went to the art gallery which was very boring but we got to watch all the people who pretended to like it and we went out for dinner every night and we went shopping for a bit and we saw the deep sea imax movie at canada place and we went to a few scenic places and to a bc lions football game which was dreadfully boring so mostly i just watched the people around us and one guy had a drum and he was lively adn we visted my uncle and we went to the beach for a bit and our hotel had a nice pool and a spa but we didnt go to the spa and i had lemonade and we went on a little 12 seat airplane to whistler and then we took a train back and it was pretty.

we also went to a ukrainian restaurant yesterday before we left and got really really amazing food and the waiter was hot which shouldnt be a big surprise.

much to the probable dismay of my neighbour down the street (who, whenever i walk by on my way home from school, jokingly (i hope) asks me to dye my hair the colours of the italian flag, which usually happens every other week), i was rooting for the ukraine.

first of all (and, after this point, who needs a second of all), their players are really cute.

the world cup is truly addicting.
so i watched pretty much the entire ukraine/swiss game and thought their goalie was really good, and i thought their players were pretty good. not knowing much about the game, mind you.
i think that they did a fine job.

i particularly like shootouts.

they're not super duper crybabies like the rest of them.
for the most part.

gosh its so annoying when someone who may have bashed his ankle on someone else's head falls to the ground with a pained expression on their face, grasps his elbow, writhes around for two and a half minutes, and needs a stretcher. stop stopping the game you homos.
anyway, having seen two of their games, i suppose i can somewhat safely i didnt see any of that going on with them. italy was pretty good about it too, but two of their guys did it and it made me upset.

the best part of the whole game was when the italian goalie took a valiant dive and hit his head on the goalpost. he then got up like nothing happened, looked around, and then sat back down with his head in his hands. after he and the entire goddamn medical team - who im guessing gets paid by the people they bring off on stetchers - decided he was okay, the camera kept cutting back to him touching his head and occasionally knocking on it.

anyway they lost but i still like them.

...and their goalie is superman.

it took me just about forever to tweak it so that it is what it is.
i am happier but not completely satisfied.
i need a way to make the date and such lowercase because uppercase with lowercase drives me up the wall. i can deal with the all uppercase titles, they don't bug me so much. i just need everything to be uniform.
i also hate the link colours.
but with premade templates i have no idea how to change it.

...actually, i do.
but im not going to sit here for three hours going through all the codes and picking out all the stuff that will change it to gray when i could be sitting here for three hours complaining about it.
i liked the picture so i put it as my header thing. im thinking about taking away the very top header, but we'll see.
otherwise i really like it.
it seems ten times less cluttered. and white, rather than the darker colours, makes me feel less anxious. that sounds dumb, but it does.
anyway while i was away i was thinking: man, im such a slacker! my blog could be ten times nicer but i never sit down to do it.
so i sat down and i did it and hopefully i'll figure out how to make it better.

today was the first archery tournament of the year.
it was sort of a novice one but we went anyway.
there were like 25 girls in our class and stephy won first plaaaace!!
i kind of suck a lot so i didnt win anything.

and we got there EARLY and it was at like a hockey arena so it was cold and cramped and we had to go through the bench places to get to the area we were shooting at.

anyway, it was cold.

but it was really fun.
we had fun at least.
first we all went to coffee time and then we shot and we went to get fries at lunch from mcdonalds which is gross but at least it was hot.

and i have a load of photos and some crummy videos which i'll upload later.

i have resorted to using century old brushes, likely made of human hair.

last night we went to the brampton indie arts festival.

i think im going to update my flickr account.
halfway through january i had reached my limit of photo uploads.
then i kind of got lazy by the time february came around.
i like it because it helps me stay somewhat organised.
when i figure out how to load my printer with photo size photo paper, i think i'll start scrapbooking.

so im going to tell you about my most embarrassing valentines day that i can remember.

i was in kindergarten and i met this boy.
and his name was michael.
he was truly amazing.
we did puzzles together. hard ones with like, 50 pieces.
he was really good at them.
i know, impressive.
so i was totally in love and then i think that was the end of the school year about and the rest of the next year and so before valentines day i went out and i think these were my first real valentines day cards and i wrote one for ever kid in my class and then i made one for michael.

actually, i just sort of wrote their name on it they were probably strawberry shortcake ones.

well i think the month before his class moved across the hall which was total heartbreak. so on valentine's day i went up to my teacher but i got all shy and i showed her the card which had his name scribbled on it and she looked at me and smiled and she pointed across the hall and i was thinking what the fuck?!! you're going to let me, make me go there by myself?!!

so i went out the door and crossed the hall and went to the classroom she said he was in so i knocked on the door and like a frickin' grade oner answered and im like canyougivethistomichaelformethanks.

and then i left and ran back to class.
i don’t know if he ever got it and i never saw him again and it was embarrassing because i had to tell my teacher.

then in grade two i had a better valentines day.
valentines day was the best in k-gr5.
we got glitter and make huge cards for our moms out of construction paper and on the big day we taped brown paper bags on the backs of our chairs and handed them out. well i was a pro by grade 2. and i had a huge crush on a boy named ryan. so i told my best friend forever and she’s totally like omg i like him too! and im like
no way.
hooray.
im so excited.
hooray.
and i was frickin' pissed right off because her last name was closer to his than mine was in the file folder thingy i don’t know why i got mad over that but i did. also our hooks in the hallway where we hung our jackets were alphabetisized as well. she wasn’t even near him but i was less near him and i was bitter and im like she only likes him because i like him and she is goin' down.

but it wasnt that bad because we were still best friends. i didn’t really feel bitter. i was seven. it was great. so on valentines day we did the pre-packaged valentines but i also made him an awesome heart one out of red construction paper and markers and so did my friend because she copied me.

oh yeah also, like 2 other of our friends said they liked him too but they were too chicken to tell him. they didn’t even talk to him and i was like his bestfriend.

aside from my best friend but whatever. so we gave them to him but we made the mistake of doing it in front of his stupid little buddies and he went bright red and sat on them or something. i think he threw them out after because he was an asshole.

yeah, that’s about it.
